Garage Maintenance Note Sheet

Recommended Posts

Zeek

Most of us have multiple things to maintain, which is a pain.:tools-hammerdrill: I don't keep manuals in my garage because it's too humid in the summer and they don't do well.

In my spare time today (plus it was 42° outside this morning and I'm a cold sissy) I made a spread sheet which I thought some may find helpful. If you have a computer and can use Excel you can take the one I attached and alter it for you. I stick mine in one of those plastic sheet protectors you use in three-ring binders. Once you download it, click the yellow "Enable Editing" button at the top and you can make your own :techie-computer:

I've made numerous detailed maintenance charts but it seems that now I only work on what doesn't work when I need it...  I've GOT to get ahead of the curve somehow!

I'd forgotten that Lawnboy uses 32:1...  Nice start!

"HARLEY"

Reminds me of an old joke, before they tamed a problem.

Q: What do you call a Harley that doesn't leak oil?

A: Empty

:angelic-halo: I remember those days . . . the Evo helped a little, but Twin Cam 88 finally did the job. Plus the old 4 speed trannies . . . now we FINALLY have 6 speeds.

Long ago a friend who rode Harleys got tired of leaving "his mark" everywhere he stopped so he bought a Goldwing.  He liked riding new so he'd trade in a lot but got tired of getting beat so he went back to Harleys.  Didn't leak anymore either!  Harley did have a bad rep, even putting "diapers" under new ones in the showroom!

I used to use the cardboard case bottoms that I got for free with my beer.

Nowadays it seems I might be putting diapers under ME soon!

Now I just write on the filter with a sharpie. date and hours, If it ain't got no filter then in the spring and if it is a user, I change it when I check it! Not but close sometimes.
