Bastkerg 14 #1 Posted December 23, 2020 Hello everyone. I inherited a wheel horse 704 a few years ago and I just got it running. With it I got a snow plow / dozer but I cant seem to find the model / manual. Is it even a wheel horse? So my question is: What model is it and how do I mount it? I managed to mount it to the rear axle but then I started to hesitate. I think one of the rods matches the lift bar but I was unsure how to fasten it and what to do with the chain and handle in front of the tractor. The box contains what I got with the tractor. See pictures. Best regards,
WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #2 Posted December 23, 2020 Definitely not WH, but necessity is the mother of invention, if it works doesn't matter what brand it is.
midpack 862 #3 Posted December 23, 2020 Is it attached in the pics, or just put in place?
Bastkerg 14 #4 Posted December 23, 2020 Only attached at the rear axle so far (pic2)
stevasaurus 22,711 #5 Posted December 23, 2020 It looks like you take the bar on the bottom in the 5th picture. Put the end with the stub into the right hand hole in picture #3 and bolt the other end to that hole on your blade frame. You could also use a length of chain instead of that bar. Once hooked up., pull back on your lift handle...use to star wheel on the dash to adjust the height of the blade.
stevasaurus 22,711 #6 Posted December 23, 2020 Did what I typed make any sense to you??
Bastkerg 14 #7 Posted December 23, 2020 I think so. Thank you for your reply. So the chain and handle in front of the tractor can be ignored? I was just overthinking things. Do you know why are there two bars? I will try something out tomorrow and get back.
Ed Kennell 38,028 #8 Posted December 23, 2020 to the I noticed there is no trip system on the blade. If the blade strikes a fixed object, be prepared to to be launched over the steering wheel

Nice to see a vintage stay in the family and be loved and appreciated. The snow blade was probably built by you relative and helps tell the story of your horse. JohnD 145 #10 Posted December 24, 2020 You can check the manuals section for plows. That will show you the typical attachments. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/category/19-blades-dozer-grader-snow/
Jeff-C175 7,199 #11 Posted December 24, 2020 That blade looks home made to me... Ditto about the 'flip springs' . BE CAREFUL you don't hit an immovable object!
