ljsdad414 101 #1 Posted December 22, 2020 Picked up a C165 today. I can’t resist a 16hp Kohler especially when it’s mated to an Eaton 11. Also came with a 48” deck. It will need the basics to get it running, but the engine is free, and the rear seems good to go. Thank goodness I have a wife who “gets it”. This makes 10 Wheel Horses in my barn, the only bad thing is I’m out of room now! My Black Hood collection is taking shape. I’ll have this one running in the next couple weeks, and hopefully ready for mowing duty in the spring. I haven’t decided if I’m going go full out or just get the mechanicals in good working order and use as is, paint wise. Sorry should have taken a couple better pictures. I didn’t get the number off the tag, I’ll have to get that tomorrow. Heath 7

If you're lucky enough to have a supportive wife who understands the "NEED" to acquire more certainly the new barn you will "NEED" will be warmly received. 3 4

Funny you say that, we have been thinking of adding on to the barn! It may just become a “Horse only” barn.

Zeek 2,286 #18 Posted December 23, 2020 I always wanted to restore a black hood. I was looking for a decent C195, but it didn't happen before I relocated. The pick 'ins are slim down here 1

Alex175 784 #21 Posted December 23, 2020 I'm feeling warm and fuzzy with all this black hood love, my favorite vintage for sure. A C-165 is pretty much top of my list right now for wanted tractors, kind of leaning towards trying to find an 8-speed as all my others are hydro so it would be nice to change it up. That's a good looking machine ya got there, it will make a fine addition to your fleet. 2 1
