wheelhorsejoe 4 #1 Posted December 19, 2020 Hi, Everyone. I have a 416-8 manual lift. I was wondering if anyone has used an actuator on a manual lift for the snow blower ? And if so can you please share the manner in which you installed it. Thanks Joe Merry Christmas !!!!!!!!!!

JCM 9,130 #8 Posted December 20, 2020 My 86 417-8 had the OEM electric lift and I hooked up the 48'' dozer blade that I had not used in 18 years and it worked great. Not sure it would be as good with a snowblower but not really sure, are we talking 44'' 2 stage or single stage ?
KrazeyOlDave 860 #9 Posted December 20, 2020 Scroll down to the reviews and you’ll see the video of my first attempt with using these. Basically, you just need mount it anywhere you can for intended purpose. You’ll need the ATV switch kit too. KrazeyOlDave 860 #10 Posted December 20, 2020 (edited) Here’s how I used them on the old pony, it worked fine but they were slow. The ones I gave you a link too, are much faster. Mind you, this was a hack job, just needed it for that winter. Edited December 20, 2020 by KrazeyOlDave
KrazeyOlDave 860 #11 Posted December 20, 2020 I still have this mount somewhere, but this was a very simple and effective setup.
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #12 Posted December 20, 2020 @KrazeyOlDave Got any more pictures of the mount ? Were you able to angle the blade ?

No sir I don’t, I will search through my Facebook photos and make sure tho. I opted out of auto angle because frankly, I didn’t have the funds at the time. However, doing it would have been super simple, just mounting it off the side. (See red line)

(See red line) I've thought about doing that along with the lift. I'd have great concerns that the actuators wouldn't be able to withstand the push of plowing... Any thoughts?

Only sure way to avoid that would be an actuator on both sides. Even then, I’d be scared of ramming a pile of old packed snow. 1

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #19 Posted December 20, 2020 @KrazeyOlDave thanks for the info . Sure wish I could weld. I can't chew gum and walk a straight line. I want to do something with an actuator and my plow. Manual lift is hard on an ole goat like me.

I’ll even make a video of it working prior. I have one new one left if you’d rather have the mount and a new actuator? Probably $150 shipped on that. 2699677056 is my number. @elcamino/wheelhorse My clumsy thumb didn’t put in my number right 🤦🏼♂️ I fixed it Edited December 20, 2020 by KrazeyOlDave 1

KrazeyOlDave 860 #24 Posted December 30, 2020 Here’s the actuator in motion, if it helps ya any. I’m running it off a marine super start battery so it doesn’t go dead...we have a very long private drive that we have to plow. Otherwise I’d just use a standard battery. You’ll have to throw a battery tender on it after each use tho. This is an old LT155 Deere that we use to pack motocross jumps with. My wife wanted something to play with in the snow, so I threw this together. 😂 IMG_9101.MOV

The only thing I'd do different is keep it more vertical to keep the stress off the actuator and on the plow frame where it should be. VERY cool... 1
