Bens vintage tractors 1,542 #1 Posted December 17, 2020 From my research I’m pretty sure these where an option with the Ber Vac snow blower offered in the 80s. They are pretty neat!

Chestnut 315 #4 Posted December 18, 2020 Wow! I took my 520H out to blow the first snow a few weeks ago and concluded I need more weight. No problem with that on your 416HD
Maxwell-8 4,289 #5 Posted December 18, 2020 How much weight can a hitch take?

My hitch now has a cylinder of concrete 11 inches diameter and 11 inches long (about 28cm by 28 cm) bolted to it. I estimate it weighs 80-90 pounds (36-40 kg). It's not enough. My other 520-H has a weight box with about 300 lbs (136 kg) in it to counterbalance a front loader. I'm interested to see what the attachment for the suitcase weights looks like. I'm thinking I'll look at a combination of wheel weights, filled tires, and more weight hanging off the rear axle. I'm also curious how much weight could be attached to a sleeve hitch.
WHX?? 49,119 #7 Posted December 18, 2020 If you want to hand some serious weight on best have a hitch that mounts right to the axle such as Lowell's. Hitches & Rock Shaft Kits (wheelhorsepartsandmore.com)

Hitches & Rock Shaft Kits (wheelhorsepartsandmore.com) Good idea. If I decide to go with a lot more weight on the hitch that's a good way to go. I just haven't decided yet whether to go that way or some combination of wheel weights, filled tires and weight on the hitch.

I have yet to need an extreme amount of weight but if I take up pushing sno instead of blowing it I would just go with an appropriate hitch/bracket and pilate weights like @Ed Kennell has. Not that I don't like the suit cases but they are rare around here and if you do find them they want yer first born!
