Drawings for snowblower shafts

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

New to the site but I have found a lot of good info. Does anyone know if any part drawings are available for snowblower shafts? I have a 1967 tractor with a snowblower on it and a couple years ago I did a full overhaul on it. One thing that was impossible to find was a new shaft for the blower, WH/Toro does not offer them as parts any longer. It's WH part #4757. So, I made my own, duplicating it from the original. Since then I have offered it for sale on eBay and have sold a few over the last couple years. I've had requests from others to make one for their blower but unless they send me their shaft I cannot make one as I have no drawings. Soooo, anyone know if parts dimensional drawings are available anywhere?

Thanks!

Don't recall any drawings for the shaft.

For the long tractor frame models

1984-87 model 06-42ST04 - (Last model to use a 3/4" diameter driveshaft)

1987-89 model 06-42ST05 - (First model to use a 7/8" diameter driveshaft)

I replaced my 3/4" shaft with 7/8" using a shaft with a full length keyway.

Doubtful you will find a manufacturer's dimensional drawing but I'm sure someone on here can measure one to provide the detailed information. I would but don't have one to measure.

Assuming that part # is the pulley to sprocket shaft to drive the auger. The one I changed a while back was done with a full length keyed shaft since I don't have the know how or machines to make a new one. Mother nature had welded the sprocket, pulley and bearings to the shaft so bad it was easier to just cut the old shaft off and replace the whole shabang. New pulley, bearings, keyed shaft, key stock, sprocket and chain all ordered from Surplus Center and it showed up like a complete little rebuild kit. Just needed to cut the shaft and chain to the proper length.

Thanks everyone for your input. If you'd like to send me info on your snowblower shaft I would appreciate it very much. Please send the blower model number also so I can go backwards and get the shaft part number.

Thanks again!

I've used shafts from The Big Bearing Store.
