Are your tires weighted? I'm running AGs but never got around to getting weights or filling tires so was just wondering how traction is without chains or added weight. Thanks.

Yes the rears are fluid filled (methanol 5-6gal ea) and 60-70# of iron weights (IHCC 30# inside next to hub and Massey Ferguson 35-45# split style hiding behind the caps) about 7.5# air pressure so far very impressed with traction ALL through the year mowing/gardening/dirt(blade work) and snow plowing , same set up on my other 520 with cab and blower (minus the iron weights just 1 70# per side and 130# suitcases hanging off the back) did great on that sleet/ice/snow mix last week.  Honestly I believe weight is key to traction no matter what style tire you run.

520 wouldn't start back up after shutting down..... screw it Packers are playing . Prolly just out  of gas .. will deal with it tomorrow. Finnished up a couple of inches with @dclarke's single. Just happy to get any kind of seat time moving sno and burn old gas.

Deuce was boss tho @WVHillbilly520H   built up a couple of drifts just to stuff in in and hear the Onan crank!

Sorry Denny I appreciate the work you got in this tractor but the seat switch has gotta go! She's a real slug without the v bar chains but ain't no way I can run them on asphalt. Rubber chains on order.

Jinxed myself .... no spark! Had to happen on the opposite side of the drive from the shop too. :angry-banghead: More snow coming tonite. Now I am not one to name my tractors but this one just got named Lucille!  This is why a guy needs a backup tractor to the backup! Missus complains I might not start up the behind for her!

Do you have 12 volts at the coil?  Easy to check, even outdoors.

Your statement has given me an epiphany of sorts.

I've stated for quite a while that I do genuinely feel that there should be a minimum one tractor per implement and or minimum one implement for tractor.

I also do agree that as you stated above there should be a backup for the backup.

Now, I'm not going to go ahead and get into the math because it's going to require exponential multiplication and I just haven't had enough coffee to deal with that yet... But if one of you find folks wants to throw out and equation or six please feel free.

Basic math...

# of :wh: >\= # of implements

Yep, got her moved into the shop for further study. Really good thread pinned in electrical on Onan no spark so will study that. Think I already know the problem tho. Sunflower hulls in the tins .....:ranting: mice!

My 87 414-8 and 76 B80. I snowblowed about 6 or 7” of 33 degree snow.. and then tonight took out the B80 and cleaned it all up, man that plow took it down to tar! Did I mention that I love plowing with my B80!!

This is my home made plow set up on little red Fred.

Quite pleased with the way it worked on what was really quite a substantial snow fall for us in the UK 🇬🇧
