Scrapguy 12 #1 Posted December 14, 2020 Gents, long time since I've been on the board and need some help. Need to change the drive belt on my 1976 C-120 automatic. Looking on the tag it shows 61-12KSO2-16893. Below that it shows 6086. I saw another post which showed how to try for a free manual from Toro but it won't take this info as valid. I have the belt ordered and should be here tomorrow. Since this is the first time to ever change that belt, looking for what all needs to be removed to accomplish the feat. I bought this critter new and have maintained it ever since. Just a backyard mechanic but have always been able to fix most things but others knowledge or a manual never hurt. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Hello to all my PA neighbors.
ebinmaine 69,913 #2 Posted December 14, 2020 Welcome back from some crazy fool up in Maine... Right hand side step is going to need to come off and the belt guard of course. Pop the transmission into the park mode and that should release most or all of the tension on the idler pulley. Not sure about the PTO setup because I don't have any on any of mine... Take the idler pulley off and the belt should twist off in your hands.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,187 #3 Posted December 14, 2020 This later service manual applies to your tractor. Click on the picture in the link and download section 5 Automatic belt replacement is on page 5-3 and refers you back to page 5-2 for the 8-speed procedure. Both are almost identical.
