peter lena 8,721 #2 Posted December 12, 2020 TALLEN , you can remove the drive belt guard , giving you a total picture of the belt to pulley operation / function . from there some one else can work the clutch and you can zero in on the problem . having done a couple of those , its not a big job , its all out in the open . also a good opportunity to lubricate all frictional movement points . when those pulleys go bad they get wobbly and noisy . replace belt is its starting to fray .pete
tunahead72 2,432 #3 Posted December 13, 2020 Sounds like an idler pulley about to self destruct. You may be able to hear it better if you have a helper operate the clutch pedal while you listen for the noise. Otherwise, do as Pete said and take off the belt guard, you'll be able to see what's going on much better.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #4 Posted December 13, 2020 The belt will bounce on the bottom lip of the belt guard and make a heck of a noise. Replacing the belt or perhaps the return spring may help. See if the belt guard can be lowered slightly. Garry
