jalink 1 #1 Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) I have a 1950 Pond walk behind. I'm wondering how do you get the left side tire off for restoration purposes. There is no room between the rim and gear case. Any suggestions? Edited December 10, 2020 by jalink

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,137 #3 Posted December 10, 2020 Is the axle ratchet hub mounted outside the wheel? Have seen other makes like that and suspect the hub must come off the axle and the wheel comes with it. Will removing #33 a 3/16" x 1-1/2" cotter pin allow that to happen? jalink 1 #4 Posted December 10, 2020 Ratchet hub is on the inside of the wheel. There is a lock collar on the hub, between the inner rim and gear case. I can reach the nuts with a open end wrench, but I cannot get a good grip on it.

WHNJ701 4,165 #6 Posted December 10, 2020 Is the rim froze to the hub??? I am not too familiar with this setup, can you post a pic of the rim and hub, if it's just froze to the hub, Spray up the hub/lugs real with pb blaster, let it soak in, have someone hold the handle bars, and give the tire few good hits with a sledgehammer. jalink 1 #7 Posted December 11, 2020 I did think of that but I was afraid I would bend the rim. My next step is heating the rim and hub and see if that will break it free. I'm assuming the hub need to come off the axle with the rim as one piece.
