tbear853 58 #35 Posted December 25, 2020 In the early 2000s, my third decade of my state LEO career, I saw new valve stems rot & crack leading to flats before I could half wear out the tires on my police car, very confidence building it was. See low tire at 2:00 AM, pull into gas station to air up, stem crumbles. And rubber tubing that was stored inside. I hear you. Never had the issue with tubes, but all my tubes are really old and have really old air in them. I have a welding tank cart my father in law built in the '50s, used a trailer axle, has Firestone 4.00x7 "Speed King" tube type tires, I've had it since 1985 and have never added air.
