Bill D 1,927 #1 Posted December 7, 2020 I made this engine mount to fit an engine stand my neighbor loaned me. I have to pull the balance gears in this M16. It has a rattle that's making me nervous. peter lena 8,647 #5 Posted December 7, 2020 BILL D , I like the idea of that , think I would add more bolt support for the weight . like 2 vertical flat drilled steel downward , bars ,one on each side to pick up the other engine bolt flange holes . first thing I thought of was a weld pipe flange , about 4 - 6" size , might even bolt rite up . However, the magnums don’t give the clearance you need for the bearing plate so your setup on the PTO side is nice for Magum rebuilds. Once stripped of most of it's parts (muffler, carb, starter/generator, etc), it gets pretty light and can move around easily. However, that's where issues set in, specifically torqueing bolts (or loosening tight bots). Makes the engine want to slide across the bench. I do that because a dressed out k engine is a lot of weight for the two mounting bolts in the cast. I complete the rebuilds on the bench.
