Ed Kennell 37,948 #2 Posted December 5, 2020 Wow, that's quite a project. Wish I could lay beads down like that. Thinking the left to right stabilizer would be more effective on the front attach-a-matic than the mid mount.
Mark Bartlett 83 #3 Posted December 5, 2020 Yeah I know I'd get more leverage at the front mount. This thing is sort of heavy already, before I mount a blade on it so I was thinking about using the front mount for a heavy duty spring to take of lever effort from the operator. He will only be using this in dirt(don't get much snow just outside Houston, Texas).
Ed Kennell 37,948 #4 Posted December 5, 2020 For use as a dozer in dirt, the extra weight might be a good thing, of course you can use a solid lift link enabling down pressure. I have all hydro lifts,, so weight is not a problem. One thing I added to my stabilizer is a series of holes that I use to set a minimum plow height. It helps when grading and I use it when plowing my stone road. I just drilled 1/8" holes thru the vertical bar and use a flat washer and hairpin clip to set a minimum blade height. Mark Bartlett 83 #5 Posted December 5, 2020 Yes, I got the need for the down pressure link in the build. Good idea re grade level control. Thanks!!
Mark Bartlett 83 #6 Posted December 26, 2020 Got back to my dozer blade project. I built a frame for the blade control actuator. It slides in and locks into place with the front attach o native hitch and has a rod (the handle in the pics) through it and the tractor frame.
