Besides electrical will I need to make any modifications to replace a Kohler M12 with a Kohler K12 or Kohler K16?

Mechanically it should drop right in,providing that the new motor has a wheel Horse oil pan with the threaded mounting holes on the left side. If the new engine has a magneto ignition you should not even have to change much wiring.

Some have different charging systems. A 15 amp rectified and regulated system and others a dual circuit with a 3 amp unregulated system.

Presuming your replacement engine came from a :wh: you can download the wiring diagram for the donor tractor and follow it. If it wasn't a :wh: then you can post the engine Spec Number here and we can help find a wiring system that will work.    :scratchead:    Presuming the replacement engine is a big-block I'm reasonably certain that the K-301 and K-321 block will fit the oil sump from the M-12.
