48inch deck bearing/spindle identification help

Recommended Posts

Charbs152

Hello all,

some of you may have seen my other post about restoring my 05-48MS01 48 inch deck

well I took the spindle apart and I have 2 different types.  One looks to be original and the other 2 look to be replacements.

one has a larger diameter than the other two. I had ordered 6 bearings but the Bearings I ordered only fit the larger shaft. (6203 3/4 2RS/C3)

can someone tell me what bearings I need for the smaller shaft?

also on the larger shaft it looks like it has a grease seal and an extra spacer at the top. Can someone explain that to me?

Let’s hear it guys

thanks

Click on the fuzzy picture to see pages from the spindle identification guide.

The latest version uses the same 6203 bearings but with a 17mm metric inside diameter.

They are also available with a 5/8" ID.

Your spindle shaft in the lower pic is 3/4 diameter and uses a woodruff key in the shaft for the pulley. Bearings for it are # 106084 and 106085 (top). The top spacer is use only on this style spindle.   The other two spindles are with top shaft diameter of 5/8" and no lkeyway is used on this type.  Bearings for ithem is # 109966 top and bottom.
