MAJ B. 48 #1 Posted November 26, 2020 Spent this morning doing more cleaning an cut/buff on the hood. Got one wheel painted and mounted with a new tube. Waiting on a couple of things to arrive and then I can finally start the rebuilt K181. Not in a hurry, but it’s getting there.

Do you have a YouTube account? You could post video of it running if you like.

MAJ B. 48 #9 Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) Making some progress. Not the prettiest gal at the dance, but definitely looking better. Got both front wheels painted now with new dust caps. Installation of the K181S is complete with new choke and throttle cables. Got the belt guard straightened out and patched along with a bracket made to attach the guard to the engine. Wet sanded, cut, and buffed the fan guard and fender pan. Still have more scrubbing/cleaning to do as well as the rear wheels. A new grill plate is on the way. I'm happy with it so far. Especially since it moves under its own power now. Also attached is a photo of where I started. Edited January 21, 2021 by MAJ B. 3

Dance with the one that catches your eye, keeps your attention, and is happy to dance with someone who is, perhaps, not the handsomest guy in the room but who has other qualities? Like being able to bring a tractor back to life--it looks great!

953 nut 55,321 #17 Posted January 23, 2021 That little 700 cleaned up very well. This engine thread should be a good read for rebuilding a Kohler. 1

Probably sharpen the blades, clean it up and see how well it cuts grass. For having set outside for who knows how long, it's in good shape. The hood and seat were the only pieces kept inside. I believe this was a repower project that didn't go as planned and got put outside in the weeds.
MAJ B. 48 #19 Posted April 6, 2021 Got the 700 about as far as I planned. Runs good and all the gears work. Even had the mower deck running. Haven’t messed with the blower yet. Got a couple of little things to do yet. All in all, happy with how things turned out. Time to do some yard rolling, hit a couple of shows and try to sell.
