bottjernat1 2,190 #1 Posted November 25, 2020 So my wonderful wife never grew up doing so called girly things she hung out with her brothers and dad growing up. Anyways she wanted a sewing machine a couple years back so I bought her one and I showed her a few things. I know LOL! I grew up working on tractors with my dad but I also hung around my grandma, and 2 aunts and adopted mom. I learned how to sew, iron and bla bla bla. We have been down on our luck money wise this year like a lot of folks so she decided to start sewing her famous body pillows and Now stockings. She was on a sewing rampage a couple days ago. My girls and other family love her body pillows.(I do too) Anyways is anybody else doing any homemade gifts? 7
Alex175 784 #2 Posted November 25, 2020 Haven't even started thinking about Christmas yet this year, but my wife will probably find some creative things she can make. In the past she's made gifts of scented soaps, body lotions, she's also sewed things, and she is an excellent baker as well, so homemade gifts are usually a part of the process. And all that being said, even with the season going the way it's been going...Go Broncos! 1 hour ago, bottjernat1 said:
Achto 27,624 #3 Posted November 25, 2020 A few years ago I made a crate to hold our spirits in the camper. I make them out of cedar so that they can handle being left out side on occasion.Since then I usually get a request from a family member or a friend to have one customized for them. Some picture of the one that I made for our camper. 4 3 1

8ntruck 7,025 #5 Posted November 26, 2020 (edited) My wife just got a fancy new sewing machine. She is not up to making gifts yet, just learning the functions of the machine. Here is a shot of her first practice piece: The thing has automatic needle threading, does quilting, embroidery, ribbon embroidery, monogramming, overcasting, and fancy stitches. Oh ya. You can do regular plain old sewing on it to. Edited November 27, 2020 by 8ntruck

Some type of hot iron? 2

ACman 7,618 #10 Posted December 13, 2020 (edited) My son bought a CNCq plasma cutter and this is the first gift he’s making for a friend. This is just a mock up. He’ll be offering his services up soon. @Zeek @Achto this was a gift for me a couple years ago . He’s a very talented artist (drawing, tattoos, painting) and he made me this transfer board. He used a wood burner and used like a tattoo gun as the picture is made up of just burned in dots. I don’t know if he used transfer paper or a projector to transfer the image to the board.
