Do rebuild kits exist for this style pump...

Docwheelhorse

Hello all,

I know the Kohler aluminum body fuel pumps generally have unobtainable rebuild kits.

What about this style off the K341 16 hp single?

Happy Thanksgiving and stay safe!

Tony

I've tried them a couple of times, left messages and have yet to speak with a person :angry-tappingfoot:

Take it apart but go slowly in case the springs can come out loose. Those little springs can be like the lost socks from your clothes dryer, who knows where they go but they're never seen again.

If the check valves are accessible little disks, (which I'm guessing they are) clean them up and flip them over. clean the surface they mate too and they should work again. Since those are mechanical driven pumps, the diaphragm should work as long as there aren't any holes in it. I have some diaphragm material if need be but not sure what that type looks like. Open them up!

Following this. I have one on an Electro (that I've owned since February and forgot I had bought until about a week ago) that I assume will need rebuilding!

What are you wearing gloves for? You're acting like it's cold outside :ychain: :hide:

Massachusetts has been going through a fair amount of ups and downs with the covid virus.

I'd be curious to know if they are partly or fully closed.

I'll try calling them tomorrow, altho that might not be a good day.  Even I have the day after Thanksgiving off.  I'm just surprised with no response, seeing what others have commented on the place. :confusion-shrug:

Learned that lesson the hard way. Now I put an empty bucket on my lap and do the disassembly inside the bucket.

Murphy's Law #15 seems to apply here  - "If you tinker with anything long enough, it will break".

Somewhere in a dark corner of Middle Earth there's a small crowd of mythical creatures wondering why we keep throwing these to them. They also have warm feet because they have millions of our socks.

I got a few rebuild kits from Then and Now. They worked great. It was a couple of years ago but I actually spoke to someone and they were very nice!

I  rebuilt my 341 fuel pump just like that one. I ordered 2 kits from then and now and it has all the parts you need to rebuild it. I never could get anyone to answer my emails. You have to call him. They went up in price to $32.00 per kit but very nice quality.

I just found the carb ball I lost well over a year ago embedded in a hole in my work bench top.  And to think  I sit right here all the time.
