TV and Commercials

I would love to cut the cord. You are right, if I have to hear Joe say "it's free", or the other announcer guy that says "call eight hun red" one more time, I think I will scream. However, when you are house bound due to a little thing called the Chinavirus, and your wife is recuperating from major surgery, I'm more than happy to have something to watch. My cable/tv bill is $180/month, but I have no other choices available to me in my location. It's sad.

We don’t have TV out at the farm either. Too much garbage on it for what it cost. We used to be able to get a few free channels over the antenna, but a large wildfire knocked out most of the repeater systems coming from the city out this way a couple years ago, and it still hasn’t been fixed 100% yet.

We do have an internet connection, and maybe once a month will watch a movie on Amazon Prime, which I pay for every month anyway to get the shipping benefits. But most of our free time during the winter is spent playing games together or watching tractor videos on YouTube. Summer time comes and there’s even less of that, as we are usually out working in the yard every evening and weekend

We pay £157.50-$210.39 a year for a tv licence. I really should say SWMBO pays it. :D  If it was up to me we wouldn't have a tv.

I just loath the medicine ads.  5 minutes of watching some family on a picnic somewhere and listening to some irritating voice telling you to tell your doctor all you have wrong with you and then listen to all the side affects from this new miracle drug.  I mute every one of them.  :ranting:

what i hate about commercials now is that the advertisers seam to overcompensating for some perceived  injustices....tv shows the same thing

it's all just pandering
