The preferred transmission filter for all models is a Wix 51410 or Napa 1410 because it does not have a by-pass valve

How would you screw in a horizontal  filter without making a mess? Really curious as I fill the filters on all of my vehicles but not the Onans or Harley because they are horizontal. Btw I’ve purchased 2 of the Napa gold 1762’s recently. At 18 bucks it’s pricey.

When I prefill a filter for a horizontal filter I will fill it only half way let that soak in, then slowly add trying not to fill to much so it can be turned on it's side. to avoid the mess of an oil spill.

@peter lena  Do you fill filter, let oil soak in, drain, install ?...or fill, let soak in then slap it on and clean up spilled oil ?...I'm serious...
