squonk 41,037 #6 Posted November 22, 2020 Pretty amazing a Peugeot can climb Pikes Peak but needs a wrecker just to make it to Wal-Mart!

peter lena 8,583 #9 Posted November 22, 2020 formariz, did it years ago , just a little slower , on the way there , we did the cowboy hall of fame , air force academy ,my wife kept telling me to stay on the inside of the road , there ware no guard rails then either , and the top half of the run was not paved . incredibly there was an older couple coming down as we were going up , in MODEL T , TOURING CAR ! that ford had the 4" rear brakes on it ! talk about scary . also did monarch pass at 14 thousand feet going to Leadville the highest town in the us , got stopped by a herd of elk just outside of Leadville, herd bull was bellowing , very impressive . great mountain pass driving out there , Eisenhower elevated driving was spectacular, motorcycle riding out there is serious stuff , often passed at 130 mph +. good trip , pete

I was there years age when the top half was dirt. It was just before the hill climbs and the racers were adjusting their fuel for elevation, lots of fun. My Buick Quadrajet didn't like the thin air and I wasn't going to re-jet for this one time, so I just kept the hammer down thru the switchbacks to keep it from flooding out.

Mickwhitt 4,593 #13 Posted November 23, 2020 This is really fearless riding. Guy Martin following Michael Dunlop around the Isle of Mann TT circuit. Over 200 mph on public roads with all the hazards you can imagine. Enjoy 1
Stormin 9,981 #14 Posted November 23, 2020 Oh yes! Isle of Man is a REAL road racers circuit. Been round it myself. Once with a 750 Norton Commando on Mad Friday and once on a bicycle. The bicycle was a lot less stressful.
peter lena 8,583 #15 Posted November 23, 2020 MICK, have followed the isle of man for years , as I get older , all I can say is that all the mountain passes we traveled , glad we did it then , today not so much , pete
