ebinmaine 67,302 #1 Posted November 20, 2020 I went fishing this morning, but after a short time I ran out of worms. I'm standing on shore and out of the corner of my eye, I see a cottonmouth with a frog in its mouth. "Frogs are good bass bait!" I thought to myself. Knowing the snake couldn't bite me with the frog in his mouth, I grabbed him right behind the head, took the frog, and put it in my bait bucket. Just then, I realized I had a problem, how was I going to release the snake without getting bit?? So, I grabbed my bottle and poured a little whiskey in its mouth. The snakes eyes rolled back and he went limp. I released him without incident and carried on fishing using the frog. A little later, I felt a nudge at my foot. There was that saaaame snake with two more frogs in his mouth!!!

Sorry @stevasaurus, this bottle won’t get any lighter until you’re in town! 1 1

stevasaurus 22,711 #8 Posted November 20, 2020 I suppose, just like Scotch, you have to develop a taste and a liking for it. There is 6 bottles in a case, and I have gone through a case and a half this year. I need to go pick up another case before Thanksgiving. As far as Kevin, I told him he should try a shot in a glass of Ginger Ale with ice. A shot of Rock & Rye also cuts the whiskey nicely. BTW...I was on to Eric's story when he mentioned a Cotton Mouth...he is too far north for one of those. He might have fooled me if it had been an eel. Tons of those in Maine...harmless, but I bet they like frogs. 2

No venomous snake in Maine but for timber rattler and those are so rare they're considered eradicated. 1
D_Mac 8,593 #10 Posted November 20, 2020 One day, My friend Bob and I were out fishing. A funeral service passes over the bridge we were fishing on, and Bob takes off his hat and puts it over his heart. He does this until the funeral service passes by. I said, “Gee Bob, I didn’t know you had it in you!” Bob replies, “It’s the least I could do. After all, I was married to her for 30 years.”
