Vinylguy 4,674 #1 Posted November 18, 2020 (edited) I had this hood in my shop this morning to replicate what appears to be an original c-195 hood that a southern Illinois client is restoring. Never seen one of these before. Does anyone have any info about this tractor? Also noticed that the hood decals were in fact linen beige background and not white? Hoping I can get some more history from my customer who is commissioned to completely restore it. Maybe a limited edition while or after a specific Race ? the 500 gives me an indicator for maybe indy 500 racetrack. 953 nut 55,091 #10 Posted November 19, 2020 (edited) I know that furnished tractors for the Indy 500 throughout the '60s and in '68 had a 500 special model. I don't know when their association with the speedway ended but doubt it went into the '80s. That being said, I would love to own that tractor and hope the owner will find another hood and preserve the one you have. Though the historical significance is dubious at best the cool factor is off the chart! EDIT Just found an old thread that could add some credence to this being legitimate.
