MAJ B. 48 #1 Posted November 16, 2020 New to the group and to Wheel Horse. Collect mostly Case tractors to include L&G. Earlier this year I was given a '69 Work Horse 700 by a friend who wanted it off of her inherited property. Came with a 32" RD deck and snowblower. Had it listed on Marketplace for quite a while and received a lot of interest, but couldn't get the deal done. Well...one thing led to another and now I'm working on it. Original engine was gone and replaced with a B&S 8 hp. Sold that and did some trading for a K181S and fuel tank. That's rebuilt now and installed. Got the rectifier mounted today. Did a lot of cleaning. Have the original rear tires, but I chose to install 8.50 rears instead. Still working on it and hope to have it running and driving soon. 7 7

Mows4three 826 #5 Posted November 16, 2020 Welcome aboard. Looks like a LOT of space in that shop. Be careful. These tractors breed pretty fast! Cheers! Dave 3 1
oliver2-44 9,724 #7 Posted November 16, 2020 A few of us have Case L&G Tractors as well. We'd enjoy seeing pictures of what you have. You can post them in the Other brands section.

The rectifier you have purchased may not serve you very well. ti was intended to be mounted in the flywheel cover of the engine where it would be cooled by air movement. for external mounting you will want one like this.

WHX?? 48,809 #14 Posted November 16, 2020 Might have to agree with Richard. Those regs do get a bit toasty when trying to charge a marginal battery. Looks like the same one as on a KT and they need to well grounded.

peter lena 8,598 #16 Posted November 16, 2020 agree with 953nut , on the rectifier cooling area , I would also emphasize the detail grounding to anything in a build up , that's the time to use serrated ,slotted washers and added grounding wire to insure electrical function , pete
Zeek 2,286 #17 Posted November 16, 2020 That's a nice 700! You even have a nice factory seat, that's kind of rare to see them in that condition
