formariz 11,988 #1 Posted November 10, 2020 I found these awesome looking valves with the correct threads for carburetors and fuel tanks. They seem to be made for labs perhaps gas valves. Tried one in a RJ and so far no leaks seems to work for fuel. They look awesome and are easy to operate. At $2.00 each I may found a lifetime supply. 3 4

ebinmaine 69,203 #3 Posted November 10, 2020 Very very nice! If you wouldn't mind sharing the source I'd love to have one of those for my big boy tractor build because the fuel tank is going to be right out in the front for the whole world to see...

8ntruck 7,212 #5 Posted November 10, 2020 I could use one on my 1948 8N. The current shut off valve drips when opened. Please do pass the source on.
formariz 11,988 #6 Posted November 10, 2020 Source is not so easy for you guys. They are in an antique mall which I visit just about every weekend with wife on way to visit grandchildren. One of the booths there has several crates always filled with old hardware. I am about the only one that regularly goes through them and buys stuff from it. I only bought two since I was not sure if they would seal fuel. So far I have one installed for about one week and no leaks so far. There are quite a few there I am not sure how many and I am sorry to say but I buried them a little deeper for this weekend just in case. I will get the rest and then I’ll dispense to who needs them . My son want a couple and I may keep a few. I’ll be back in touch about them. 1 1
squonk 41,737 #7 Posted November 10, 2020 Keep an eye on that. Whatever seals it may not be compatible with gas. May take a while to leak. Or worse yet may swell up and when the lever is moved REALLY LEAK!

I am going to take one apart tonight.

formariz 11,988 #10 Posted November 11, 2020 (edited) So I have taken one valve apart. It is entirely made of brass. There are no components to deteriorate from exposure to fuel. Male and female parts are precisely machined and are tapered therefor getting a tighter fit when screw it tightened .
