I few months back THREE (that part’s important) guys at Home Depot loaded a car roof in similar fashion, using the free white string to tie round and round through the back windows, to the trunk latch, probably the antenna... WHEN THEY STOPPED TYING AND WENT TO GET IN THE CAR... the guy who drew the short straw had no way to get in the back seat!

ebinmaine 67,302 #16 Posted November 3, 2020 A few different things come to mind. I wish I'd bought that car with the roof racks Hey you got any extra bailing twine? How much do you think this will affect my mpg? Remind me to stop on the way and pick up a few cans of spray paint for my roof. Hey Zeke did you bring those Oversized Load signs? How come pullstart doesn't use his roof in addition to the bed? How many beers does it take to balance a snow machine on a four-door sedan? I genuinely wish I could say this surprises me but I live in Maine...... 2

Mickwhitt 4,593 #18 Posted November 3, 2020 If it is secure and you can see the lights then it should be OK. 😃 Over here we would try dangerous parts or condition, insecure load, maybe even dangerous driving. Of course the guy could just say it landed there while they were driving along.
Mickwhitt 4,593 #19 Posted November 3, 2020 How about this one? train came off the end of the line and sat on top of a plastic whale sculpture. 3 3
Mickwhitt 4,593 #20 Posted November 3, 2020 I was in the front passenger seat when the sergeant driving tried to balance it on its roof. Unfortunately not an easy manoeuvre at 80 mph. See the speed limit sign on the post behind it? Oops

Mickwhitt 4,593 #23 Posted November 3, 2020 I was pretty banged up, obviously I was sitting in the front passenger side, which over here is on the left, which is right, as you sit on the left over there to drive, which is wrong. The range rover landed right on the A pillar and roof line so I copped the whole impact. They had to pick out lumps of the telephone handset from my skull, it was in my hand as we crashed and I hit myself over the noggin with it. All that for a possible stolen car. 1
Mickwhitt 4,593 #24 Posted November 3, 2020 Yes the sarge kept his job, few points on his driving permit but no harm done, it was in the line of duty not dicking around.
