I'm quite sure that they were over the maximum 102" width. That's a real thing. Except for the fact that it doesn't have cargo bars... I'm sure it was perfectly fine. Oversized load signs. No issue. Sort of.

I wish I was quick enough to have snapped a picture, but in Puerto Rico back in July, it was very common to see one or two HORSES In the bed of a pickup cruising down the road! Equine ones! here’s a cool square body Chevy with a nice cargo rack though!

I walked past a complete Lincoln Town Car on my way. As I was there, A group of shall I say Latino's descended on it like a swarm of locusts. I came past this car on my way back and it looked like @WHX24 and @Achto had mafia'd it. I go out to the parking lot and these guys are loading their Town Car parts into and on another Town Car. There are 5 of these guys and they had taken everything but the air in the tires. I just stood there watching. They had fenders in the front seats! I have no idea what they were thinking but once everything was tied down they finally realized they had no way to drive this thing home! 1 1

Mickwhitt 4,593 #35 Posted November 3, 2020 This one had the air suspension Norm. A possible failure made it wallow a bit. I felt a bump looked up and saw grass, I looked back down and felt another bump, looked up we were back on tarmac. Then it just rolled. Looks like it was trying its best to get off road lol.

After further investigating, in WI you can not have anything hanging out past the vehicle on the left side & your only allowed 6" hanging out past the right side of the vehicle. Soooo i guess this was their violation. This by the way is what they received a warning from the state patrol for. The driver also received a warning for running a Minnesota plate on a vehicle that he had drove in the state of Wisconsin for several months. Stating that he did not get around to registering it yet after he purchased it in the Twin Cities early this spring. He did how ever receive a $10 ticket for not wearing his seat belt. That'll teach 'em !

My dad has told me stories (and there are pictures somewhere) of how my grandfather would regularly load either 2,000 pounds of feed, or a full size bull into the back of his '67 Dodge D100, /6 3 on the tree (Which is still in the family, alive and well) and drive from where I am in Texas, up to the ranch near Tishomingo, OK. It's a good 2.5 hour drive at todays speeds.. I'd imagine it took a bit longer with cargo! My dad said you could see the 20' up trees with the headlights because the bumper was about dragging the ground. He of course had wooden side boards built up to keep the bull in. oliver2-44 9,696 #49 Posted November 7, 2020 Yep I wish I hap pictures of how we used to stack 62 bales of hay on my Dads 66 Ford F-250. Those bales were always well North of 50lbs. My Dads farm trucks were always well used, 1
ebinmaine 67,288 #50 Posted November 7, 2020 There's a picture around here somewhere of my parent's old station wagon filled to the roof and also roof covered, with slab wood. Rear suspension was.... Workin. Not sure if it was road driven like that.
