Would it work to cut a ring of 1/4" material, make a radial cut in the ring, then pull the ends of the ring alomg the axis of rotation to make it a segment of a spiral?

Maybe build a buck for a section of a spiral and use the heat and beat method?

I'm wondering if that might not be a good idea.  2 piece tapered screw thread, more like a real thread, wide base to a tip, from more bendable 1/8" plate.  Two sides, second plate starts wider at the base.  Weld, torch, bend, hammer and repeat.  Lots of repeating!  Gonna take a while but more agreeable than 1/4" plate.

It would be nice to not have anymore repeating then necessary if anyway possible lol

I think making a ring by bending ba stock would be more cost effective. Cutting rings on a 4x8ft sheet would use up the sheet quite quickly

This pic is of the junction of 2 pieces at the 1/6 mark on the tank.  They both are 90 degree from the tank.  So each 1/6 segment has a 1/2" of twist in it

Merry Christmas Eve everyone. Had a chance for a little garage time. It's a crude little bugger but I think it will work. It only has to last for 72 pieces lol.  I also took the opportunity on my cool down time to do a bit of math. Without the blades factored in it's looking like 1.34 pounds per square inch. I dont know if that's more or less then what I was expecting.

A bit more on the coal forge. If I have to bend steel for the screw drive this will do it. At least it will save my oxy/acet.

Making the 90 mile round trip today to get the steel for the auger blades. Let's wrap this build up. That Haban sickle bar for the GT14 is calling my name.

I believe the international laws of fabrication states that you are allowed to use multiple BFH'S in situations of complex curves

Oh I am. Its actually the twist that's getting me. I'm trying to figure out a way to do the twist without putting an unwanted added curve in it.

The little known “twister corollary” permits use of said BFH’s whilst providing highly entertaining visuals:

Left hand blue, right leg yellow...right hand on BFF... now swing!!!

Who wants to do some math? What is the length of 1 single spiral on a cylinder that is approx 14.75" x 66". I came up with 80.5" but I question that very much.

Hey guys I have been given a box of these flap wheels.
      5.25" x 1.5" with a 1" arbor hole.
I instantly thought great I can put one on my bench grinder.
      Nope!    Not that simple.
The arbor size is different, and it's to wide to fit inside the the guard.
I thought of removing the guard but would like to have it there.
I guess I could make an arbor adapter and a spacer for the guard, and a new tool rest, etc. More time involved then first thought.

Does anyone use these, and if so what do you have it on?

Hello fellas. I bought this 211-3 tractor. I have no clue how this mower deck comes off. I need to fix some areas on the deck, as well as replace a clutch cable. I can't seem to find pictures of a complete deck for this model as it should be. Need help.

Let's see your view from your workplace "window". I know some are driving truck,or tractor, work in shops/offices or outdoors. What is it that surrounds you during your work day?

I've had some stuff laying around for a while now. I've had some ideas kicking around my head for a while as well.
Well they met each other a few days ago.
This is going to be a camp buggy of sorts.
Like any of my other builds I would appreciate any input anyone want to donate.

The base is an 1982-88 Yamaha G1 golf cart.
