Charbs152 254 #1 Posted October 29, 2020 (edited) Hello how can I adjust the belt? Eaton hydro When the disengagement lever is pulled up, the hydro system is still engaged and will drive forward and reverse additionally, when the lever is down in the engaged position? The motion control lever hits it when in reverse. any adjustments I can make? edit: my tractor has a Briggs 18hp opposed twin. I suppose I should take it apart and get a real look at the tensioner pulley thanks Edited October 29, 2020 by Charbs152
Lee1977 6,777 #2 Posted October 29, 2020 There is no adjustment on a hydro drive belt. Rusty pulleys or the wrong belt would be my guess. There is adjustment to the hydro and the cam and the cam plate does wear out. I had to replace both on my 1989 520-H last year after i bought it to get it to operate as it should. When I got it had way to much reverse and was hard to get it stopped and back forward. I also replaced the original 1/4" joints with new heims joints. I don't have a C-175 I think the hydro adjustment would be similar. The cam and cam plate adjustment should be in the owners manual.

edgro 677 #4 Posted October 29, 2020 If it should have originally had a Kohler, maybe with the Briggs it takes a different belt?

It does have a replacement briggs and it looks like someone wrote 5/8x82 on the belt cover, althought if thats what they used, its tight enough to drive tractor when disengaged. I wonder if the OEM 83 will fit. I must investigate further this weekend lol...but only after i replace the chain and sprockets on my blower!
