Gator blades for the 42" and 48" decks

Does anyone have a part number for the aftermarket Gator blades for the 42" and 48" decks?  I am looking for a better high lift blade for leaf pickup. 

Also, which deck works better for leaf pickup?  My 42" deck seems to spit a lot of leaves out of the front edge, more than my 48" did when I used it last year.  Bill

Never used anything but a 48" myself....works like a dream, also grinds the bejesus out of them

I put a mulching plate on my 42" SD deck this fall.  It did leak a bunch of clippings under the right front edge of the deck.

 

I used my 42" RD deck last year and don't remember anything coming out from under the front of the deck - wasn't using a mulching plate, though.  Thinking about making a plate for the RD deck to see if it will do better than the SD deck.

 

Sorry, can't help with the Gator blade numbers.

High lift blades would help with a bagger. The blade won't help with exit speed it's the engine RPM and the pulleys that determines the speed.

I use Gators on my 4 deck but I also use a vacuum. I don't have any problem picking leaf's up. I also picked up a 4" long stone bent a 3/16" vacuum blade

broke the stone in half blew one piece in the trailer the other raddled around in the blower. We made the blades out of boiler plate.

If your blades have the 5/8" x 3/4" double-D center hole I doubt you will find after-market replacement blades and possibly not even originals.

The 3/4" round center hole not a problem.

Gators will absolutely not give you the best lift. Notched hi lift blades is the way to go for most airflow.

106637 toro should give you the oe ones. I think you can easily find hi lift blades from there on. for instance stens 350-124

I contacted Oregon. they claimed not to have a blade for my 42" SD deck. has anyone used a 14' blade on a 42" deck? by measurement there's almost no clearance

Pro Parts Place on ebay has 13 7/8" blades I used the HTX blades from there toughest blade I  have every had. I have bought two set for my 48" deck.  Haven't bought any for my 42" but I have see them on the site.

I believe the 106636 crosses to the Oregon 90-644 G3 blade for the 48" deck with the 3/4" hole.

 

And the 106637 to the 90-643 G3 blade for the 42" deck.

 

( I might have the numbers paired wrong, going from memory)

 

HOWEVER, you may find that the top edge of the Gator is too tall and hits the back edge of the deck.  Maybe my deck is knackered and bent caddy wompus, but they didn't fit on mine.  This could be why Oregon doesn't recommend them even though the length and hole size are correct.
