tallen4392 69 #1 Posted October 27, 2020 Does anyone know if I can swap out the front wheel spindles on my c-81 to the type that has the bolt and washer holding the wheel on instead of the c clip and what model might work. ...THANKS
ebinmaine 68,885 #2 Posted October 27, 2020 Let's wait and see what the others have to say to confirm it but it seems to me any mid-70s b or c would work for you. Maybe even older... I can take a look and see if I have a spare set.
tallen4392 69 #3 Posted October 27, 2020 That would be great if you have something that would work I have lost my front wheel twice while pushing dirt that c clip is worthless having frt weights on makes it even worse the only weak point on it... after using it hard for 5 or 6 years with no other problems

pfrederi 17,999 #5 Posted October 27, 2020 WH also had spindles that used cotter pins. i would try to get those. The bolt on ones (left side) can back off. Had front wheel come off plowing snow at the far end of the driveway. If you do use bolts get the special self locking kind like WH used.

As another option, you could drill & tap the ones that you have. used a 3/8 - 16 bolt about 3/4" long. 2
