Yeah and also how long do you think the tire will last and should I find replacements

I bet the tire would be fine if you could get the calcium chloride out of the inside and clean the wheel up, paint it and tube it  :handgestures-thumbupright:

I’d break the tire down from the wheel and rinse it out good with a garden hose.  If you’re worried about waste, I was told once that if you can contain it within a 5 gallon bucket of floor dry, it’s ok to consider it garbage.  This was from the environmental engineer safety guy at a large corporation I used to work at.

@ACman forgot to mention , you were using a dead blow hammer , they were not  invented yet in the day , just a regular rubber hammer , did hundreds of tires , just what you did , back in the day of  12 cent  fuel oil , I  used to drag hose for  that , also before SCOVILL  ROTARY FUEL VALVES , on the hose . so when you shouted for fuel flow , it would just about pull you off the tank . Saturday  was a big day , usually about 150 + call slips on the  bench seat,  also remember soaking down a  German Shepard  that charged me as I DRAGED HOSE TO TANK ,  soaked him down , probably still running , good old days , pete

Does the card trick work better than just taking the rim out and painting it

I messed up the paint mounting the tires on the small wheels.  I figured I’d save myself the headache and mask off the final product for a good coat on the big wheels.

The cap says “K-28361” though the Google machine came up with little results.  Maybe an old parts catalog might help if ever needed.

Like you said earlier, sure looks like an engine casting freeze plug. What is the diameter? A  polished brass cap would look KOOL!

I mentioned that this tractor will be in a parade in town on Saturday.  I found out the nieces will be in the parade with us.  Well, I built a wheel kit for the snow sled!

I need to make the hitch a little more solid and it’ll be in tow behind the Senior this weekend!

THE KIDS WILL NOT BE RIDING IN THE SLEIGH ON THE WAY TO TOWN!  PNLY DURING THE PARADE!

That’s what it’s built for… snowmobile trail rides.  I took the skis off and added wheels for the summer :handgestures-thumbupright:

The hitch is complete on the Trail-er-Sled and I built an angle iron draw bar for the Senior too.  It should ride pretty level now!

I haven’t broken it yet… most things I build don’t break and that’s engineered enough for me :handgestures-thumbupright:

Soon as this drawbar dries up a bit more, I have a niece on the way to test out the trailer!

The antique white and the tires separate the reds… I think your pennies were worth it!
