Jerzguy2 23 #1 Posted October 26, 2020 (edited) Just wondering if both a 42" plow and 48" attachment is identical. Wish to put a 48" on a '88 416-8. Model 79350 plow Thanks Edited October 26, 2020 by Jerzguy2
Ed Kennell 38,028 #2 Posted October 26, 2020 Yes, they are the same. The 48" will work well on the 416.

Jerzguy2 23 #5 Posted October 26, 2020 Thank you for the advise, been over 40 years since I put one on. Jack
Ed Kennell 38,028 #6 Posted October 26, 2020 Jack, I am assuming you are aware there is a short and a long plow frame. Of course you need the long frame for your 416. The blades themselves 42, 48, and 54" will fit on any frame.
Jerzguy2 23 #7 Posted October 26, 2020 Aw, assume not ! I'm quite sure this is the long frame. How long should it be? Im not measuring tonight, don't need the aggravation

Ed Kennell 38,028 #9 Posted October 26, 2020 The rear half of the long frame will have parallel sides. The short frame sides are an "A" shape from front to rear.

tom2p 2,394 #11 Posted October 27, 2020 wow - 40 years - you got me beat been around 20 years since I've mounted my plow they work well - even without wheel weights I was able to push snow fairly well (on level and down hill) can adjust angle easily and easy to install and remove
Jerzguy2 23 #12 Posted October 27, 2020 Thats because it was on a machine my father bought new in '65 and I was used until maybe 1980. When I sold, I didn't think I would use it so I gave it away. I bought one to cut my lawn about 12 years ago and tomorrow I pick up my third. Now I have to start putting plows on again.
