C121 winter project

Well I bought another project.....a C121 8 speed. This one is a little rougher than my C161 but it ran great and has the electric lift option. I’m going to work on this over the winter and use it as a lesson for the C161 next summer. Think all in all it has good bones and should come out great with any luck.

I’ve always thought that an eight speed and electric lift would be an excellent rototilling tractor.

Agreed.  But with over 200K btus on hand, any space can be heated!

  Now that your tractor is apart, it could be a great opportunity to add some reinforcement to those pesky transmission tunnel ears that come to a point at the back. the later tractors with an underseat gas tank are even worse because the metal is so thin. Those ears hold up the front seat mount and if you use the horse hard and on slopes, those ears can crack loose and even make the seat pan crack.

  I suck at posting pictures, but you can see the problems I am having. i added angle iron from a bed frame and a recliner to stiffen the whole affair up. Furniture steel is thin and tough and well suited to the purpose. With any luck, i will get a repair thread showing the process that will hold up big people like me and Eric
