Making a rocker shaft

Recommended Posts

The Tuul Crib

I found some bushings in my collection I've got this off of one of the old deck so I no longer have to make a rocker shaft. My question is of the location to put the

vertical bar. how far away from the left side should it be ?

Wow, what a clever idea.  How far to the left?  The bar should line up with the tube that runs on top of the transaxle and guides the cable.  I would graciously give you a dimension except I sold all my fleet 2 years ago before moving to FL.  Darn, I miss my C141, but there is nothing for it to do here.

I'm not the only one that has done this. Someone else here on the Square has done it and did a thread on it. It just makes sense to use extra parts for something!!

Need to check it with the gas tank in place.  It looks right but there isn't a lot of space between the two sides of the tank. You don't want the 3/4 shaft rubbing the plastic tank.

I built one, worked on my 312-8 tried it on my 520-H and it didn't fit right.

Finally got it mounted where it is supposed to be and swings freely. Anyone know off the top of the head what size cable or length of cable I will need?

I did the same exact thing. Worked out perfect. The bushings I used were from a spare brake pedal. They are an exact fit. Nice job!

Yes I did check the clearance on the gas tank. That was my main concern! Dont need to go searching for a new another gas tank at this point!
