Outside, not under cover!! it’s got the mule drive and front tank... so it’s between a 72 -77? It doesn’t have any attachments. Ok... I haven’t studied B80s for ever .. what year is it? And an extra carburetor, muffler, voltage regulator and complete clutch. 8 speed, front gas tank; so it gotta be a 76 or a 77! I’m so excited!!! Goldnboy 926 #16 Posted October 25, 2020 (edited) The B80 is a great machine, and can do everything the popular C160 does just has a little less grunt for spinning a big deck or big blower. It is my main tractor and preferred over my hydrostatic. You may have bought a parts box and got a free tractor. I know! The Nelson muffler on it has a rotted out bottom. The clutch on it looks to be new. The starter on it has two broken teeth. The metal on it is straight! I took the engine tin off it to blow the mud dobs out. The only thing is the front gas tank the fuel shut off needs to be replaced as well as the little grommet, the little grommet concerns me... I wonder if it the same as the rear tank ones? AHS 1,440 #22 Posted October 26, 2020 Ok, I should start a threading engines, I wanna get this engine running! The engine was just a little bit stuck... just a little bit.. nothing I couldn’t get by turning the flywheel screen for a minute. There was no carb attached, but there was a plastic bag scrunched cup plugging the little intake hole. There was a little bit of loose rust in the exhaust port, I dug in there with a my finger and scooped out about 95% of it. I want to pop off the head and have a look in there.... but what about the head bolts breaking... this engine is old and tiny! ebinmaine 67,610 #23 Posted October 26, 2020 Headbolts on that particular engine are not at all known for breaking so you will very likely be just fine. If the six-sided head of any particular bolt is rusted to a point that a six-sided socket doesn't fit it quite right just be careful. Not a bad idea at all to take an air hose and blow down next to each bolt and around the plug to prevent some of that crap from flying around or into the engine. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I changed the oil, and no pieces came out!👍 I cleaned the points. I rolled it over and over, by hand and it rolled over fine. I put the carb into cleaner. It needs a fuel pump (do to mud dobs!), now are all the parts the same for all K series engines? The 8hp just looks so tiny! 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
