The Tuul Crib

42 inch deck under my charger

The Tuul Crib

Since I got everything buttoned up and running at this point I decided to start working on the deck. I have already repaired the metal and painted the outside so I'm a couple steps ahead. i'm looking through the attachment parts for the deck and I'm looking at this main centerpiece that looks like the shaft can be replaced.
it looks like it was tack welded in place and if so has anybody ever replaced these?

I have, just regular bar stock, turn the ends down to fit the latches on a lathe. Really tightens the deck up.

It looks like the bar stock slides inside of the tube on the frame. I do know that tractor supply has this particular size of bar stock in cold roll.

It'll be tack welded to stop it moving in the tube when your fitted the deck. Why they did that I don't know. Unless it's some PO's repair.

I have two of these type attachments when I bought these two chargers. Came with two decks. Anyway they both have some gobbled up welding on the ends which looked to be a rookie that did it.

going to try today to press it out.

lve already cut the ends.

Let er rip tater chip!!!  :ROTF:

OK so I have to the point cut the ends of the smaller shaft off and I'm trying to press it out and will not budge I'm thinking there was a hole on the outer piece when they slid it in and tack welded it in place.
