Dual stage snowthrower sprocket and chain.

Recommended Posts

My dual stage needs two new sprockets and a new chain before this winter. The chain is nla from toro. The sprockets are still available but for a significant amount of money. Has anyone had any luck with a similar part from Napa or tractor supply?

I'm not sure about 2 stage blowers, but I've gotten the idler sprockets and chain at Tractor Supply for the single stage I have.  These should be available, most everything can be bought after market for a Wheel Horse, as long as you know where to look.  Others will be along that know first hand about 2 stages.  And may have sources.

anthony, the 40WT chain is available at T/S , not sure about the sprockets , but a combination of info here and internet cross numbers will find your parts , another vital thing is to USE A SPECIFIC , GEAR AND CHAIN LUBE ON THAT DRIVE SET UP,  most I have seen are solid rust and neglect . another thing about those 2 stage units is that you can use that belt drive set up to rotate the entire drive function , and detail in its operation. doing that to the one I had made a huge difference , going from barely moving to smooth and easy.  that also went to the discharge chute , that was frozen in rust . let us know what you find, lubricate and align as you service any part of this , entire drive function moved by hand with ease when i was done, pete

I found the three sprockets for my single stage at amazon. I checked all measurements (id - od - width etc) and searched until I found what I needed. They also have #40 chain. T S also carries these items.       Dick

Great information thank you guys. In another week or so all the leaves should be down and gone and then I’ll get the blower out to start to service it and get it ready for winter. I will let you know if I come across the proper sprocket and what matches the oem parts. I will pick chain up over at tractor supply

The 2 stage has a wooden block to adjust chain slack, later models used a plastic block.  Some on here have replaced the block with a sprocket because of the rapid wear.  You might want to search here for information to see if you want to do that.
