Restore C 160 Original seat

Recommended Posts

johnnymag3

Looking for any info on restoring my C 160 seat to Original.

I am good with doing that sort of stuff, but have no idea if the Vinyl that matches the seat is available, especially with the LOGO on the backrest.

Any info would help me tremendously

Thanks, John           :)

It depends how creative you are.  The materials are out there.  I patched up the cover on my commando seat, it is presentable not perfect but it's the original cover.  Post a pic of yours to see how bad it it is

I have made new seat and back cushions using vinyl from Jo Ann fabrics.    I save the WH logo from the back cushion and sew it into the new cushion.    The texture of the vinyl does not match perfectly, but it is close.

How can you sew it into the back? Do you mean on top of the surface ? Or cut a circle out and install it ? Thank you for any advice Ed...You are the MASTER When it comes to this...:greetings-clappingyellow:

I cant figure out how that can look any good either...

Usually the back rest cushions are only cut around the outside edge where the steel plate cuts thru the top corners.  I take the cushion apart saving the WH logo front piece and sew in the new outside piece.

I seem to remember someone was making replacement seat covers for the two piece seats.  He even made the dies for the seams and the logo. This was last year if memory serves me (which is iffy)
