Most of the guys carried spare fuel. I have twin tanks- a C series under the seat and B series under the hood, with shutoff valves on each. I can carry just under 5 gallons ..still needed to steal a gallon from one of the guys haha, we did a LOT of riding! 1

So you averaged about 5 miles per gallon… not bad considering that’s over 3 days and a lot of hard work!

Our host Joshs Horse lost his vanguard engine literally 2-3 miles from home on the last leg and I towed him in haha. Those old Sears machines are a close second to the Horses as far as durability, but they need some front end and trans bracing to do it. The Cubs are killer, just HEAVY.

Sears and wheel horses, are the easiest for a engine swap, or a pulley swap. Any idea, how mr studabaker got his machine to go so fast?
