Snowblower Adjustment on C-145

12 HORSE, your pulley question ,pto drive picture , fig 9 above , the 2 middle pulleys operate  on a spring tensioned swing point  in the blower frame, LUBRICATE THAT SWING POINT, that will enhance spring tension and pulley drive , making it work effortlessly. another thing  , a needle point on your grease gun will let you get a hi temp grease into the related bearings . this is a touchy subject , but those bearings fail and get noisy , because they do not have hi temp grease in them , go over all rusted and stiff operating areas with lubricant and minor adjustments , and make it work easier , jmo  experience, pete

May I ask...what are the cotter pin ( I dont know the correct name, sorry) sizes you need, where they are used, when attaching the lift arm in front to the blower and rear to the tractor (mines a c160 hydro)? Mine was missing both and the substitutes (read rigged) is not something I want to continue to use.

Also, is there anything to use on the pulleys, to keep them in good shape; spinning

I’m not any expert with these like many of the guys here but here is a picture of the spare parts in the manual I have. Maybe this will help you with your snowblower.

Funny how parts are called different things. I call those hitch pins.  On bottom of the lift rod where it attaches to the snow blower I used a Cotter Pin. I just want to make sure it doesn’t push out accidentally.

I made the chute crank rod today. I bought a length of rod and stole the other rod off an edger I had in the scrap pile. The handle is a 6” piece of pipe with a nylon nut on the end. I welded the nut that’s on the rod in place for strength and will paint it up tomorrow.

I put the new belt on The snowblower today. I also added a Stack!

If I add weight to the rear or weight the tires will the front end become less load heavy? I think my son is going to have a hard time turning the wheel at a stop. When it’s moving it’s not so bad.
