bottjernat1 2,190 #1 Posted October 16, 2020 (edited) I have a question does anybody have the part number for the starter solenoid on my 1976 d-160? It has a 3 post one on it now. Dont know if its original or not. I think maybe it is. But I am sure it isnt located where it should be thats for sure. it is broken and i have to once in a while wiggle it to get it working. i tighten the one bolt holding it in. I am not drilling holes. Does anyone know where it should be mounted? Also like I have said in the past my late dad was a stens dealer i do have 4 post ones can i use one of them? Also how in tater head terms can I figure out how the connections work to it? Edited October 16, 2020 by bottjernat1

pfrederi 18,004 #4 Posted October 16, 2020 Sorry misread your post 101450 is a regulator. Any 12 solenoid will work. Look closely at the 4 terminal. One small will be marked S (goes to switch) If the other has an I ignore it. If it ins't marked or has a G ground it.
pacer 3,174 #5 Posted October 16, 2020 Yes, that is the correct mtng position on the D's - with your Onan, its actually visible. On my other D's with Kohler its totally hidden by that piece of tin, once I have to remove the piece to get to it I leave it off. Go to any auto parts store with your solenoid and they can match it, seems like theyre $20, or less
