Pullstart 63,291 #1 Posted October 15, 2020 We have our annual health check up through my wife’s employer today. There are muffins, donuts, eggs, bacon and ice cream in the house and I have to fast until the appointment! I did sneak a cup of coffee this morning before I was reminded to fast... does that count? ebinmaine 69,258 #2 Posted October 15, 2020 Black coffee is usually okay. Any kind of creamer you need to tell a doctor's office or it might skew your blood work

Pullstart 63,291 #8 Posted October 15, 2020 So much better. Lunch time I finished a turkey club with jalapeños, onion rings and half of my wife’s “thanksgiving on a bun” meal! Only had room for a cookie killer with marshmallow sauce on top. 1

ebinmaine 69,258 #11 Posted October 15, 2020 I've done a couple of cleanses which is exactly the same thing as the prep for the colonoscopy. I found that to be tolerable for the most part as long as you're not more than about 20 ft away from the lavatory facilities. What I'm not particularly looking forward to is being half knocked out during the procedure itself. I turn 50 in December so it's going to be sometime in the next two to four months that I go have that amount of fun... 1

Ahhh 50 - First you realize that you're a half century old, you go to the mail box & find your invite to join AARP, and then doctors wanna probe you. It just can't get any better than that, can it?? Mickwhitt 4,832 #20 Posted October 15, 2020 The best coffee is a nice cup of tea! I had a colonoscopy a few years ago. The procedure was easy, the pre cleansing was bloody terrible. I genuinely thought I was going to turn inside out. 1

rmaynard 15,758 #23 Posted October 15, 2020 When I turned 50, everyone older than me talked about being over the hill, and how the older you get, the faster you go down that hill. I laughed. Now, at almost 71, I am looking for the brakes on the greasy slide. I don't worry about being poked and prodded. What I worry about is how to pay for those prescription drugs that seem to get more expensive as your age go up. 1
lynnmor 7,445 #24 Posted October 15, 2020 This year has been great, a pair of knees, a pair of hearing aids, a pair of dental implants and just today scheduled for a pair of eyeballs. Not joking except the eyeballs are cataract surgery.
