Just gotta find a way to either deter them from entering or kill 'em.

ebinmaine 67,695 #41 Posted January 13, 2021 We put a Bucket Of Death in the outdoor workshop a month or two ago and have not caught one single solitary mouse in the damn thing. But the trap on the floor beside it has been mildly productive...

Ed Kennell 38,249 #44 Posted January 13, 2021 Mrs K just saw one run across the living room. No felines in this house, so I'll have to break out the traps. 4
WHX?? 48,834 #45 Posted January 13, 2021 Last count I got eight outside cats and I also feed birds so that pretty much throws out the welcome mat for mice. Early this winter I had mice get in my warehouse. I try to keep the cats out of there as they tend to use the gravel floor as their personal littler box. Not fun laying on the gravel doing horse business then find out you were laying in it! Caught three of them in the victors and locked my best mouser in there with a loaded cat box and she caught two more. I have also been feeding the cats their nightly ration of cat chow by the camper to hopefully put the fear of God in the mice.

Caught many a mouse in it. However, in the winter the water freezes so I decided to put some used anti-freeze in there... and haven't caught a single mouse since. Anti-freeze seems to be a good mouse repellent!! OR, maybe it's the skulk of Red Foxes that have taken up residence on a neighboring wooded area... see them every night out hunting. OH! and there was a BALD EAGLE munching on a Bambi carcass that I pulled out of the road and hid from SWMBO out in that area. Two days in a row he visited! between him and the black headed vultures there are only bones to dispose of now. wallfish 17,017 #49 Posted January 13, 2021 We do the 5 gallon bucket trap but just sprinkle bird feed sunflower seeds to cover the water surface. It appears solid to them like the bucket 1/2 full of seed so they just hop right in. No spinning devices or trap doors or anything but a ramp. Works great for mice and chipmunks. 6
WHX?? 48,834 #50 Posted January 13, 2021 Anti freeze works good in the death bucket as the sweetness helps attract them. Also pets tho so be careful, it in itself is a deadly poison. Don't feed mice drowned in it to the foxes. If it's a clean kill foxes love mice.
