Short lift link. 5 or 6 inches long. A little chain. Allows for blade float.

Or

Long lift link. 11.5 or so long. Creates down pressure on the blade.

Is it the same for all models or does it have to be for my charger

Back in the day the blade for your tractor came in two packages. The blade in one and the frame to suit the tractor it was going on. The lift links came with the blade and are illustrated in the manual.

Your tractor is a long frame model and the last blades sold up until a few years ago would still fit your tractor.

Best to click on the pictures below and download from that page.

Sure could, that would give you lift and float :handgestures-thumbupright:

Clevis.  That’s the word I’m looking for!  A couple clevis’ for the chain ends would allow easy hookup.

I don't see why that wouldn't work as long as the lift angle worked out okay.

Forgive me if I missed it but is this on a tractor with a hydro lift?

The using just a chain will work without issue. If you wish to have a solid link for down pressure they are easy to make. I can get you dimensions tonight, unless someone beats me to it.

Chain will work best then.

Neither one of our current plow tractors are hydraulic lift.

Both of the plows we use have a solid link. It gives you the capability of pushing forward on the lever to generate some downforce for scraping up areas like where you may have driven over the snow and compacted it.

The long solid link works well for a manual lift. If you leave it alone the lift lever moves on it's own to give you float. Hydraulic lift won't do that.

If you have the means to make a solid lift bar here are the dimensions. A piece of 1/4" x 1 1/4" flat stock 12 1/2" long. Weld 3/8" pins 11 1/2" on center apart.

I have a 308 8 speed also  the lever under that is curved like in just about all the pics I see  but the charger  hookup  is up inside between the frame like in the picture  very different than  most I see and very different than my other tractor  something is missing I think on this charger  I don't think I  could put a piece of  chain from that piece in the picture to the plow frame bracket it would have to be 10 inch piece of chain what am I missing  I put the blade under it today  I will snap a few more picture tomorrow

That would be helpful.

I'm thinking you have the same setup we do here.

I remove the curved piece on assembly of our tractors because we don't use any mowers.

You'll likely use the connection right at the rock shaft and go directly to the plow.

Either 5" solid with the rest chain to give float or a full solid bar to give down pressure.

From stuff I have read these chargers are a different animal when it comes to attachments I can't just take the deck off my 308 and put it on the charger won't work that is why this charger plow hookup is totally different no long curved horizontal link under it  they are both long frame models but the directional lever to turn the plow is right up against the floorboard on the charger   but not on the 308 I am beginning to believe this is not interchangeable with the two machines  anyone have a charger  without hydro lift that could snap a pic of the lift system under there machine ..   ( pics of mine to follow ).

Any LONG frame plow from 1967 up will fit.

A 308 and a HORIZONTAL engine Charger are both long frames.

It isn't IF it will fit, it's what may have been or need to be changed over the years.

The rock shaft for the lift is in the same place whether hand lift or hydro lift.

I've had the same issue on my Cinnamon Horse with the angle lever hitting the right hand floor board.

I never did find an explanation for it.

I tried both a 42" and 48" plow and both were the same.

I ended up fabbing a bracket for the plow that mounted differently than stock and moved the plow forward 2".

When you get some pics of your own setup we can see where the specific interference is and correct it.

I can't open those files in my phone. Maybe someone with a pc can switch them over to a file type that will post.

I don't know if the pics went through the one with the horizontal arm is the tractor the plow was on everything worked   but the others are the charger very different hook up two small arms on the shaft that's it  but if I can't get the lever to go all the way when turning the plow left  then I will have to come up with a different plan ..... I don't have a welder.....
