GEnd 7 #1 Posted September 28, 2020 Hey everybody, I'm embarrassed to have to ask for your help, but this has me mystified. I had to remove the discharge chute from my 5xi series 60" mowing deck (model 78395), and now, for the life of me, I can't get the dang thing mounted again. The manual from Toro provides instructions that make it sound easy, but getting the springs to sit in the right position to allow the bolt to slide through is stumping me. Being springs, they don't want to be compressed and squirm out of position when pressure is applied. Attached are the instructions as well as a photo I took prior to disassembly. Does anyone have any tricks for this? Thanks! 78395 Chute.docx
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,033 #2 Posted September 28, 2020 Guessing here. Have some rod you can make 2 pins from the same length as the bolts minus the heads? Pin length needs to fit inside the chute brackets or same length as deck brackets. Instal springs and slide pins in to hold the springs in position. Place the chute in position with the spring ends above the chute. Lift chute slightly and push pins out with the bolts. Garry
