Recommended Posts

This may have been here before, but I cannot seem to find it.

How do I remove the spindle shaft from the Spindle itself??. The thread on the blade side is ugly..

Thanks, john

There are no threads left down low where it needs to have threads...the previous owner was overzealous, and ruined the threads

Now its my headache to repair / replace for a customer...

thanks, john

If we're you I would remove the entire  shaft from the assembly, the weld around the damaged  threads to build  up the worn away material  then tap with a die.  Its ruined  so you can't  make it worse

You might get better help if you told what type if spindle you are working on.

If the top pulley is cast iron its a double d spindle.  If its metal then take the nut off on the pulley end if you see a Grove in the pulley for a keyway  its a 3/4" spindle  shaft if it is all round then its 5/8".

Suspect you have one of these.

If you narrow it down each model has a breakdown of the spindle assemblies with the parts list that should help
