Wheel Horse XL440h

Recommended Posts

I have recently been offered a generic snow blower attachment for riding mowers. Do wheel horse tractors and mowers require brand specific snowblowers? Or can any attachment fit?

Welcome to Redsquare from a fellow Mainer!!

Generally speaking they are brand specific but as the old line of thinking goes you can make anything work with a welder...

Can you post pics of what it is that you're looking at?

There never was a snowthrower or snow blower for the XL 440H.

42" snow blade only.

If you get so's you're looking for another one let me know. We can keep an eye open for you.

If you find a really serious streak of ambition and you want a project, I have enough parts myself to put at least two together. Maybe even more...

I am also in Maine so that would work out, at the moment I'm happy with my 440, but I wouldn't mind an older machine. Something I can do a little more with.

I've got enough stuff set aside to put together an early to mid-seventies 12 horse 8 speed.

I have most of what you would need to put together a 1257 as well.

This is the snowblower set up. Only pic owner sent me and he confirmed it's a craftsman brand

Be more than happy to.

Super busy with work this week so it might take me until Sunday.

We'll see how the rest of today goes...

Looks like that's made for a vertical shaft tractor.

Not at all sure what you would need to do or if you could get that to work on a Horse at all..

My 440 has a vertical shaft Briggs. My biggest concern is mounting the actual snow blower to the front of the mower. Because it seems as though the piece that mounts where my mowing deck is now would work.

Kind of makes me wonder if you could Fab something up without a lot of work

I don't think it would take a ton of fabricating either. I mean, I'm getting the attachment for free so why not try haha
