echris 1,425 #1 Posted September 19, 2020 I was thinking about this question tonight. What's the hardest thing to do on a WH, service/repair wise. And I really couldn't come up with anything that terrible. But then it hit me. There is one job, when executed incorrectly, will give a big owie, every time: Slide that sweet restored mower deck under the tractor, and grab that Tach-o-matic bar too soon... There it is, that's the job. When you slam that pointy part of the deck support between your hand and the frame. And that's it. That's the only bad job. That's why we love WH.

formariz 11,987 #3 Posted September 19, 2020 Of all models I have from RJ35s to 520H anything you have to do on a Suburban 551 under the hood is a real pain. Many tasks need to be done with the hood on and there is so much stuff crammed under there that it is very frustrating. That is particularly so if tractor is on the ground . Hard on your back , knees, and mind.

Three have been mentioned by @Bill D @The Tuul Crib and @Burnerman. The fourth is probably the most frequently mentioned around these parts and that is pulling a hub. 71_Bronco 1,072 #14 Posted September 19, 2020 - Trying not to buy that WH that just pops up on FB or CL. - Trying to decide which attachment to put on and play with / bring to the show. In all seriousness, the hardest job I've had so far was removing some hubs that someone tried to weld to the axles. 1

Greentored 3,201 #21 Posted September 21, 2020 (edited) In my 9 short months of Wheel Horse addiction, I mean hobby, here's the list: 1. Hitch pins 2. Hubs 3. Staying off marketplace and trying/wanting to buy everything that says 'wheel horse'. 4. Not putting a stack on everything 5. By far the worst: Parking them! Honorable mention: leaving the damn thing alone and not changing pulley ratios Edited September 21, 2020 by Greentored
