I'm so glad I posted this here, I wasn't going to because I thought not many people would be interested in, but you guys have been more help than anywhere else! Took some more pics of it in the shed tonight. I'd mess with it more, but I'm getting ready to go camping all next week so I'm prepping the camper for that.

B-1 - '61 thru '63 - 7.5hp Briggs w/ 3 speed tranny

 

B-10 -   '63 thru '64 - 9hp Briggs - 3 speed tranny w/ optional Hi/Lo 6 speed

Big 10 - '65 - 10hp Briggs - 3 speed tranny w/ optional Hi/Lo 6 speed

Nice find

i looked at one about 6 months ago, painted orange and engine and tranny covered in oil.  Had not run in years. I had the itch for it, but just have too many projects already.

I know the feeling. I have a family friend who had AC tractors growing up on his farm so this is for him to ride around at shows.

This here is what I grew up on. My dad bought a brand new B-10 in '64(?). Exactly like this model except it had hyro lift, same manual trans though. Flip up seat for easy access to the belts, front PTO, 4 captive thumb screws and the hood lifts right off, innovative (at least I think) PTO with the lever on the left side in front of the rear wheel. Simple spring loaded design, push down to make mower go whirr!

We had the snow blade, 48" deck and dirt plow with sod cutter. We used all of them year round. (OK, we didn't use the dirt plow in the NY winters. lol)

I think one of the best things about that tractor is the snow blade has a short frame, hitch pins right to the front axle, and with hyrdaulic lift we could make HUGE snow banks in the driveway because the plow lifted so high. Doze the snow right up on the bank.

Most basic maintenance is simple, but not WH simple. Digging a bit deeper can be a real pain with the front-to-rear crankshaft and way the frame kinda surrounds the middle of the tractor.

My brother still uses her as his primary mower.

Great find @Mike'sHorseBarn. Not exactly the same as my Dads, but a solid machines nonetheless. Your deck looks freakin' pristine! Take care of it. My brother had a heck of a time finding a replacement after years sheet metal patching!

Along with this great survivor he also got a 48" deck, a dozer blade, grader blade and the weight that mounts in the rear lift. All implements are also in original paint.

There's that beautiful short frame snow plow I was talking about. It may not have the trip springs like the WH, but it's definitely the real deal! Beast of a snow plow.

And also, settle down about the triple post. Red Square was all Red Squirrely a while ago.

It was a shame when I sold my simplicity 700, the guy didn't want any of the attachments.  I tried and tried to sell them off and finally posted them all for free.  The absolutely mint mower deck not one taker it was small 32 or something, eventually I parted it out online and couldn't believe what the spindles finally sold for.
